America Needs a True Leader—Not Just Another Partisan Fight - March 5, 2025
Watching former President Trump's speech last night, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of disappointment—not just in him, but in the overall state of our leadership. From the moment he entered the room, it was clear that political division continues to overshadow the real issues affecting Americans. The congresswoman holding a sign that read “This isn’t normal” and the congressman who aggressively took it from her hands—both acted immaturely. The event and the building should be respected, and their behavior was an embarrassment. Unfortunately, this is the kind of political theater we’ve come to expect.
While Trump has never been known as the most honest politician, it doesn’t excuse the behavior of those opposing him. The Democrats in attendance chose not to stand or clap for the citizens being honored, instead scrolling through their phones, detached from the moment. Then, there was Senator Al Green, who disrupted the speech—just as Marjorie Taylor Greene had done in the past to Biden. It’s the same cycle of disrespect from both sides. Frankly, representatives like Marjorie and Al have no business holding positions of power. It’s shameful that these are the people leading our country.
Beyond the theatrics, the speech also brought attention to real issues, like the growing trade tensions with Canada and Mexico. While concerns about immigration and cartel activity are valid, why create unnecessary conflict with Canada, a long-standing ally? A tariff war with a peaceful neighbor only harms everyday Americans. It's unfortunate that we’re heading into another four years of political and economic instability (great time to buy stocks though).
At the end of the day, the U.S. doesn’t need a leader focused on catering to billionaires or pushing extreme social agendas—whether left or right. Yes, I believe America needs God, but faith cannot be forced on people. God is a gentleman, and leadership should reflect wisdom, not control. Executive orders about paper straws and renaming bodies of water do nothing for struggling families. These distractions take away from the real issues: economic stability, national security, and ensuring that all Americans—regardless of background—can thrive.
The fight between Democrats and Republicans is exhausting. It’s time for a leader who prioritizes common sense and the good of the people over party loyalty. America needs someone willing to work across the aisle, to bring real solutions instead of fueling division. If we want a better future, we need a leader who puts the country first—someone who understands that politics isn't just about winning battles, but about serving the people who call this nation home. And those goes for those Congressmen and women we elect as well. We can do better America.
Why The Division 2 Feels More Engaging Than GTA V - February 26, 2025
After spending more time with both Grand Theft Auto V and The Division 2, I’ve realized just how different these games feel—and how much more enjoyable The Division 2 is for me.
GTA V is all about thug life, gang culture, and reckless behavior, filled with swearing and crime-driven missions. The open-world nature makes it harder to follow a structured path, and while that freedom can be exciting, it also makes the game feel aimless at times. The controls aren’t exactly intuitive either—I struggle with things like crouching or shooting while driving. More than that, though, GTA V subtly influences players by immersing them in a world of crime, making it easy to see how it could impact real-life behavior. Just like how I sometimes find myself saying “Yahoo!” after playing Super Mario, GTA V’s world can draw players into mimicking reckless driving, car theft, and violence.
On the other hand, The Division 2 offers a more structured and guided experience. Missions are clear, movement and combat feel smoother, and picking up loot around Washington D.C. adds an extra layer of engagement. Unlike GTA V, where you play as a criminal, The Division 2 casts you as a hero fighting to restore order, which gives it a more positive and rewarding feel. I even find myself looking at tactical gear in real life, just in case things ever go south! The game’s design encourages strategy and teamwork, making it far more immersive and enjoyable than the chaotic world of GTA V.
After playing these two games for a few more weeks, I still think The Division 2 is more interesting to play. I enjoy how there are different areas where I can pick up ammo and new gear, and side missions are easily findable within the map. There’s always something to do on my way to another mission, and the views—though tiring after a while since D.C. looks so worn down—are still amazing. It’s a very engaging game to play.
Meanwhile, GTA V’s controls are still not as intuitive, and the gameplay often feels repetitive—just driving around, waiting for a new mission to appear, still feeling pointless to me. The foul language is another downside for someone like me; the music selection is also underwhelming. I wish there was a better variety, like East Coast hip-hop, rock bands like Linkin Park, P.O.D., and Papa Roach, or even Spanish hip-hop like Akwid, Cypress Hill, Sporty Loco, Malverde, Psycho Realm, or early Pitbull.
I also wish the maps were better. Side missions similar to The Division 2 or Assassin’s Creed Origins would be a huge improvement. Overall, GTA V lacks depth in a lot of areas, so I’m not sure why everyone is so hyped about it. It’s truly a shame to have a game like this so widely accepted in society—it really sends the wrong message to our children, teens, and young adults. The Division 2 proves that you can have an engaging, action-packed game without glorifying the worst aspects of human behavior.
Market Uncertainty: A Time for Opportunity - February 25, 2025
The stock market has been on a bit of a decline lately, with the S&P 500 seeing its fourth consecutive drop and Bitcoin falling below $90,000 after a strong start to the year. With uncertainty in the air, it’s easy to feel hesitant about investing. But if history has taught us anything, it’s that moments like these create some of the best opportunities.
When the market dips, it’s not a signal to panic—it’s a chance to buy quality investments at a discount. No one can perfectly time the market, but long-term investors who stay consistent, buying during both highs and lows, tend to come out ahead. The next few years might look challenging, but that’s all the more reason to start preparing now. As the market continues to be red from time to time, it’s important to keep investing, adding more money to well-performing stocks like ETFs and those with strong dividend histories.
Diversification is key to managing risk. Consider balancing your portfolio with a mix of stocks, bonds, and CDs. Precious metals like silver can be a solid hedge against inflation, and while gold is expensive, it can still be a worthwhile investment if within your budget. For those willing to embrace risk, cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin present another potential growth avenue.
We will always live with uncertainty, but life requires risk-taking. Either we live wishing we had taken action or live with gratitude for the chances we took that paid off. Whatever you do, focus on making smarter, more informed decisions day after day. Stay strong, stay strategic, and embrace the opportunities that market volatility presents.
Onside: A Front-Row Seat to MLS Growth - February 24, 2025
I just started watching Onside: Major League Soccer—the first episode is free on Peacock, but the full documentary is on Apple TV. Right from the start, I’m reminded of how far Major League Soccer (MLS) has come and how exciting it has become. The Chicago Fire FC has been part of this journey since 1997, and seeing legends like Cuauhtémoc Blanco, Jorge Campos, Giovani dos Santos, Chicharito, and now Lionel Messi leave their mark on MLS is incredible. Watching David Beckham and Tata Martino’s impact on the league unfold in this documentary makes me appreciate the growth even more.
The visuals are stunning—players training on MLS soccer fields with palm trees in the background, soccer stadiumspacked with energy, and fireworks lighting up the night. It would be a dream to work closer with MLS marketing, but for now, I’m just soaking in the excitement of what’s ahead in MLS 2025. And while my loyalty lies with Chicago Fire and LAFC, I can’t ignore how much LA Galaxy has contributed to MLS history with their championships and legendary signings. This documentary is a must-watch for any soccer fan looking to relive the league’s incredible journey!
Catching Up on Gaming: Rediscovering the Joy of Video Games - February 23, 2025
Video games have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. From growing up on Nintendo classics to now jumping back into gaming with The Division 2 and (soon) Grand Theft Auto V on my Xbox One, I’m finally catching up on what I’ve missed. Life has a way of pulling us away from our hobbies, and while I haven’t always stayed up to date with the latest and greatest, the excitement of exploring new (or even old) titles never fades. With GTA VI on the horizon and Assassin’s Creed Shadows looking like an absolute must-play, I’m more hyped than ever for what’s to come.
Gaming has also been something I’ve passed down to my son—maybe a little too much. I always remind him (and myself) that responsibilities come first, and while video games are fun, they should never take priority over real-life moments. It’s easy to get lost in a game or even in our phones when we’re with family, but I try my best to stay present, especially when my son is being his silly, entertaining self. That balance is key. Looking ahead, 2025 is shaping up to be a huge year for gaming, and I’m considering grabbing a PS5 to fully experience Assassin’s Creed Shadows, GTA VI, and whatever surprises the Nintendo Switch 2 has in store. Late to the party or not, I’m just excited to be playing again.
MLS Season Kicks Off: The Rise of Soccer in the U.S. - February 22, 2025
The return of the MLS season is always an exciting time, but this year feels extra special. As someone who grew up playing soccer, watching Liga MX with my dad, and now coaching my son’s team, the sport has been a constant in my life. Living in the U.S., I’ve naturally gravitated toward MLS over Liga MX, and while my hometown team, the Chicago Fire, may not be a powerhouse, my love for the league keeps me invested. I proudly support teams like LAFC, and this year, I’m thrilled to welcome San Diego FC to the mix. There’s something special about seeing a city as vibrant as San Diego finally get its own team—it’s a sign of how much soccer continues to grow in this country.
Soccer is the world’s sport. It’s the king of international competition, uniting fans across cultures like no other game can. While basketball, football, and baseball still dominate in the U.S., the growth of soccer is undeniable. With the 2025 Club World Cup and the 2026 World Cup on the horizon, the momentum feels unstoppable. More teams, bigger signings, and passionate fan bases are fueling MLS’s rise, and I hope we continue to see expansion in cities like Sacramento, El Paso, Milwaukee, Phoenix, and Indianapolis. A team in Puerto Rico or even a few new clubs in Canada would be incredible too. The sport I love is finally taking its rightful place in the U.S., and I can’t wait to see where it goes next.
The Real Reason We Scroll - February 17, 2025
Social media is where people express themselves, for better or worse. More than ever, people are unafraid to voice their thoughts, their opinions—just like I’m doing right now. It’s a place for engagement and awareness, much like video gaming. And while all these things can be great, we need to ask ourselves: How do we make others feel?
We can be real. We can be honest. But we can also choose kindness.
With all the tools we have at our fingertips, we should use them for good—not as weapons against ourselves, our children, or our communities. Our society is already breaking apart in ways we can’t ignore. People are more disconnected from their neighbors than ever. I feel it too. I can count on one hand the people who check up on me, yet I check in on many. And I know it’s even worse for others—especially men, who often struggle in silence.
So let’s change that. Let’s use social media to build, not tear down. Let’s prioritize mental health, emotional health, financial literacy, generosity, and learning real skills. Let’s stop relying on screens to replace real relationships and instead be present in our families, our friendships, and our communities.
Social media is powerful. The question is: How will we use it?
Why Saving and Investing is Essential for a Secure Future - February 13, 2025
Life is unpredictable—one moment, everything seems fine, and the next, an unexpected event like a medical emergency, job loss, or major life change can shake things up. That’s why saving money and investing wisely isn’t just a good habit—it’s a necessity. Whether it's putting money into a 401(k), CDs, the stock market, bonds, or even silver and gold, every step taken toward financial security helps. Even keeping some cash on hand can be a game-changer when an emergency arises, or simply when you want to take that well-deserved vacation without debt looming over you.
One of the biggest obstacles to saving is unnecessary spending. We all fall into the trap of buying things we don’t really need—whether it’s the latest gadget, fast fashion, or impulse purchases that just end up collecting dust. Over time, our homes become cluttered, and our bank accounts suffer. Instead, prioritizing needs over wants can make a huge difference in building long-term wealth. The reality is that many of us don’t love our jobs, but by consistently saving and investing in assets that generate passive income—like dividend stocks—we set ourselves up for a future where financial freedom is within reach. Little by little, a little becomes a lot. And with discipline, that "lot" can lead to early retirement, a legacy for our children, and peace of mind for the years ahead.
Support the Re-Introduction of the DACA Bill - February 10, 2025
Congresswoman Sylvia García will reintroduce a critical DACA bill, aiming to provide a path to permanent residency for Dreamers who meet key requirements—such as earning a college degree, maintaining steady employment, and having no criminal record. This bill is an important step in protecting individuals who have lived in the U.S. for most of their lives, contributing to their communities and the economy. While a broader immigration reform or amnesty would be ideal, progress often comes in small but meaningful steps. Supporting this bill is one way to help ensure DACA recipients and others, like those with Temporary Protected Status (TPS), have a fair chance at securing their future.
The best way to support this bill is by calling your state senator and urging them to back it. You can find your senator’s contact information at senate.gov/senators. Your voice matters—direct calls and advocacy efforts can push lawmakers to take action in favor of immigration reform. This bill isn’t just about paperwork; it’s about real people who contribute daily to our society and deserve the opportunity to live without fear of deportation. Let’s take this step forward and support Dreamers on their path to a more secure future.
How I Lost Time but Found a Second Chance in Fatherhood - February 7, 2025
Growing up, I wasn’t the best older brother I could’ve been. I pushed my younger brother away, too caught up in my own world—chasing women, seeking independence, and believing I was too mature to bond with him the way he deserved. Looking back, I see the moments we could have had, the childhood memories left unmade, and I regret how often I distanced myself from him. Maybe our parents didn’t know how to foster a closer bond between us, or maybe I was just too stubborn to listen. Now, he lives across the country, and the physical distance is a heavy reminder of the emotional distance I created in our youth. I wonder if our family dynamics played a role—if generational pride and unspoken wounds from our parents’ sibling relationships made it harder for us to be close. The cycle of sibling separation seems to repeat itself, and I hate that I contributed to it. I love my brother deeply now, and I’ve apologized countless times, but nothing can change the past. If only I could go back and do it differently—be more present, more united, more of the big brother he needed.
Yet, in all of this, I see a second chance at brotherhood—through fatherhood. My son, my new best friend, gives me an opportunity to be better—to be the kind of role model I should have been, but now as a father figure. I hold him, apologize when I’m too harsh, put my phone down to be present in the moment, and cherish every second. Maybe through him, I can rewrite the past in a way—pouring into him the love, guidance, and connection I wish I had fully given my brother. My family is still here, and while we can’t turn back time, we can make the most of what’s left. I just hope God forgives me for my past mistakes and that, in loving my son the right way, I can somehow make things right.

Guiding and Praying for Your Children: A Parent’s Role in Setting Them Up for Success - February 5, 2025
Parenting is a journey of guidance, patience, and faith. As parents, we serve as barriers along the road of life, helping our children navigate their way toward a bright future. A father on one side, a mother on the other—both providing structure, support, and direction. When both parents are involved, the child moves forward with confidence, avoiding pitfalls that could lead them astray. However, when one parent is absent, that road can become dangerously close to a cliff, making guidance even more crucial. It’s not about controlling their path but rather helping them understand their options, breaking down complex lessons into something they can grasp, and encouraging their natural interests. Whether it’s enrolling them in activities that spark curiosity, exposing them to different career paths, or simply being present in their everyday moments, the goal is to equip them with the tools to make informed choices about their future—without pressure or fear of failure.
Just as guidance is essential, so is prayer. Praying for your child is one of the most powerful ways to protect and support them. A simple prayer as they board the school bus, asking for a safe and enriching day, or a whispered request for healing when they are sick, reinforces our faith and offers them unseen strength. Even at night, when shadows seem bigger and nightmares feel real, teaching them to pray fosters courage and reassurance. A quick tuck-in, a comforting word, and a reminder that they are not alone can make all the difference. Parenting is not just about providing shelter and opportunities—it’s about being present, available, and intentional in how we guide them. Through faith, patience, and love, we help them stay on course, empowering them to discover their own purpose while knowing they are always supported.
The United States: A Nation Built by Immigrants, Sustained by Hard Work - February 3, 2025
Immigrants have always been the foundation of the United States, from the early European settlers to today's diverse communities from Latin America, Asia, and beyond. Songs like Ricardo Arjona’s Mojado, Kap G's A Day Without a Mexican and films such as A Better Life, A Million Miles Away, and Goal! resonate deeply with me, reflecting the struggles many families have faced—and continue to face—in pursuit of a better future. Every generation of immigrants has sought opportunity, security, and the chance to build something greater for the next generation. This nation has been shaped by those who dared to start anew, including the ancestors of leaders like President Trump, whose wife, Melania Trump, came from Europe (Yugoslavia), and Vice President JD Vance, whose wife, Usha Vance, is the daughter of Indian immigrants.
To honor our immigrant roots and continue building upon the legacy of our ancestors, the United States needs comprehensive immigration reform. Providing amnesty to those who have contributed for years, paid taxes, maintained good legal standing, and emerged from the shadows is essential. At the same time, immigrants must respect the opportunities this country provides, embracing gratitude, hard work, and a willingness to integrate while honoring their roots. Pride in our origins is natural, but it should not divide us. Instead, we should focus on unity, learning to coexist, and working toward a better future together. Investing in immigration reform will ensure that the United States remains strong, diverse, and full of opportunity for generations to come.
Why P.O.D. Deserves a Movie: The Fundamental Elements of Southtown - February 2, 2025
P.O.D. isn’t just a rock band—they’re a movement. From the moment The Fundamental Elements of Southtown hit MTV, I was hooked. Their fusion of rock, hip-hop, and faith spoke to something deeper in me, and over the years, their music has been a constant source of inspiration. I’ve been fortunate enough to see them live, and each concert felt like more than just a show—it was a reminder that faith and music can collide in powerful, life-changing ways. A film about P.O.D. would be more than just a story of a band; it would be a testament to the lives they’ve touched, the struggles they’ve endured, and the legacy they continue to build. A title like The Fundamental Elements of Southtown would be perfect, capturing their roots, their journey, and the impact they’ve had on a generation. Tracks like Alive and Tribal still hit just as hard today, reminding me that being Christian isn’t about following rules or institutions—it’s about a personal, raw, and real connection with God. P.O.D. helped me see that faith isn’t about being perfect—it’s about reaching those who are lost, not just preaching to those already saved. Their story deserves to be told, and I’d be first in line to watch it.
Trump’s tariffs on Mexico, Canada, and China are sending shock waves through the stock market right now, triggering a sell-off as investors panic ahead of Monday. But history shows that when fear grips the market, it creates a prime buying opportunity for those willing to take calculated risks. While retail investors dump stocks, billionaire elites and institutions are likely accumulating shares at bargain prices. Key sectors like technology, automotive, and consumer goods may face short-term losses, but long-term investors can capitalize on undervalued opportunities. Instead of following the crowd, savvy investors should consider running in the opposite direction and seizing the moment before the market stabilizes.
In today’s fast-paced society, we often ask for empathy and understanding during our struggles, yet we frequently fall short of extending the same grace to others. Here in the United States, we’ve lost touch with the values that foster true community—caring for our neighbors, showing kindness, and putting others before ourselves. It all begins with character: being truthful, generous, and using kind words instead of harsh ones. Simple acts like being present, putting the phone down, and prioritizing meaningful connections over fleeting distractions can have profound ripple effects. By choosing to live with integrity—staying faithful in relationships, avoiding harmful substances, and seeking to uplift others—we can rebuild the sense of community we’ve lost. Ultimately, the way we treat others reflects the harvest we’ll reap in our own lives. Let’s start sowing seeds of kindness and care, one small action at a time.
Watching the Trump inauguration today, along with several other inaugurations in the past, has deepened my appreciation for the strength of our democracy, the power of our voices, and the impact of freedom and liberty in the United States. Our government's decisions affect us all, especially as we navigate challenges like rising costs of food, healthcare, and housing. Reflecting on the last four years, I was struck by the absence of prayers for Joe Biden during the ceremony. While he may not have been our greatest president, he led with humility and generosity, deserving kindness and encouragement in his advanced age. Yet, too often, Americans respond with unkindness and negativity. It's time we return to core values like kindness, gratitude, and compassion for our neighbors, building a stronger nation and communities that uplifts each other instead of tearing each other down.
Social media has turned into a hub of trends where originality takes a back seat. Everyone is copying the same ideas, leaving little room for genuine creativity. This isn't just a social media issue - it's spilling into our daily lives. Did you know that 66% of people admit they're addicted to their phones? Studies also show that excessive screen time can lower intelligence levels and decrease focus, especially among younger generations. Deep down, we've always been trailblazers, innovators, and leaders, yet this endless cycle of imitation is holding us back. Meanwhile, other nations are rapidly advancing, prioritizing technology and innovations while we're glued to entertainment apps. The truth is, the world doesn't need more followers - it needs thinkers, creators, and doers. Let's break the cycle, embrace our unique voice, and lead the way for future generations. It's time to put down our phones and start creating the future we want to see.
